As a locally owned business, Occasions values our community non-profits who do so much to help our neighborhoods and citizens thrive. With a cooperative spirit, we assist many groups in our region.
Here are some of the community events Occasions supports:
Local Artists in the Heritage Room – 2012 – Present
Occasions Catering is fortunate to have several very artistic people working for us, not only in the kitchen, but in other departments. At this spring’s Olympia Arts Walk we showcased two of them with all of Olympia. They were at the Heritage Room, located at 604 Water Street, at the corner of Legion and Water Street.
Occasions Feeds the Masses 2012
Well maybe not the masses, but definitely the large crews of Puget Sound Energy and Potelco. Over five days, of severe weather and major power outages, Occasions made 2,675 boxed lunches for crews in Pierce and Thurston Counties. We also provided 125 crew members three hot meals per day for a week at their Olympia Service Center. The first day we, too, were out of power but our chefs and staff worked fast and furious to get the meals out to those that needed them.
The PSE/ Potelco crews were such a gracious group of men and women and we thank them for their tireless work. We were glad to do our small part in helping to get the power back up and running through the restored lines.
Here are a couple testimonials from the good people at PSE/Potelco:
To all the wonderful Occasion’s staff:
Welcome to the new day!
Thank you so very much for your dedicated service, quality meals, untiring effort and emergency response during the recent major electrical power outage here in Thurston County.
Because of your partnership we were able to keep the army of skilled workers focused on the task of restoring power to the many emergency service organizations, businesses, and individual citizens in our wonderful county.
While many were needing help your organization was on the leading edge, making help available.
You should all be very proud of your efforts.
We commend your commitment to excellence and your bravery under fire.
We dub you as champions that we can count on when the going gets tough.
Thank you so much for your service to the PSE/Potelco team and the community as a whole.
On behalf of Rosemary and Myself, you all are the very best.
Have a wonderful day!
Henry Lloyd – Quanta, Potelco
And I second this – greatly.
Your name and phone number is now etched permanently near the very top of our Storm Center list!
Many great compliments on the meals were received by many.

CHILDREN’S HANDS ON MUSEUM GOVERNOR’S RECEPTION
Occasions was honored to help with the hors d’oeuvres and service at the recent Children’s Hands on Museum Governor’s reception held on January 31, 2012, (a reschedule from the snow days)! It was held in the NEW building still under construction with 275 guests taking a tour of this fabulous facility in downtown Olympia. Hard hats were not required and the sheetrock looked great. Our menu featured HANDS ON food…Mini Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup Sippers, Veggies & Dip plus Hot Dog Sliders with the works. Seemed to make all the guests happy – just like the new Children’s Hands on Museum will make so many kids happy. We are so proud to see this beautiful building in Olympia, our home town! Anne Larson, the CHOM event coordinator said:
Thank you both again so much for such wonderful service and food at the Governor’s Reception. We so appreciated your support of this benefit event. We were able to showcase several of our local museum partners to 275 guests. People thoroughly enjoyed your friendly staff and wonderful appetizers, and I appreciated your appreciation to detail and ability to adapt to our construction zone! We look forward to working with you again over the years.
