Most celebrations feature a champagne toast at some point in the event. It could be after the father of the bride gives a speech at his daughter’s wedding, a husband toasts his wife of 25 years at their anniversary celebration, or a CEO thanks his staff at the company holiday party. No matter how good (or bad) the toast is, the beverage that is being toasted should be a good one.
For something even more special than the standard glass of champagne, consider serving a champagne cocktail. With so many different variations, almost everyone can find a combination that they enjoy. Several easy, yet delicious ideas include the following combinations:
- Champagne + Raspberry Liqueur (garnish with a fresh raspberry)
- Champagne + Pear Brandy + Pear Liqueur
- Champagne + Apricot (or other fruit liqueur) + Grapefruit Bitters
For those who prefer something a little less sweet, try the following combinations. And please, don’t doubt it until you try it.
- Champagne + Tequila + Simple Syrup
- Champagne + Bourbon
- Champagne + Gin + Lemon Juice + Simple Syrup
And while these cocktails are an excellent choice to toast, they don’t need to be limited to the purposes of toasting. Champagne cocktails make excellent signature cocktails to serve anytime during your event. We must warn you, though: these combinations are very easy to drink, so be prepared for a lot of enthusiastic guests requesting a refill and perhaps the recipe.
